Connecting HP printer to the new router 
There are numerous ways through which you can connect HP printer to the new router. Once your HP printer gets connected to the router, you can print from computer to the same network without attaching your printer to the computer. Before proceeding further, check your HP printer supports wireless functionality or not because some HP printers do not have wireless functionality.

1.HP Auto Wireless Connect -
HP Auto Wireless Connect is that advanced technology through which you can connect your HP printer to router’s wireless network without using cable and without entering network name and password. HP Auto Wireless Connect technology is found in latest models of HP printers. 
Before using this option, first, you have to install your printer’s software by following onscreen prompts. Just note one thing i.e., choose “Network” as connection type and then select “Yes, send my wireless settings to the printer”. That’s all, now HP software will do rest things. One important things i.e., your computer is compatible with HP Auto Wireless Connect or not. So check these following conditions -
1. Your computer uses a wireless connection to the network and the operating system is in the control of wireless adapter.
2. Your computer is connected to a network over 2.4Ghz. This is because HP printers are not compatible with 5.0 GHz networks.
3. Make sure your computer is not using static IP address.

2.WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) -
WPS has two modes i.e., Pushbutton and PIN through which you can connect devices over a wireless connection.
To use WPS button, check this -
a. Make sure your printer and wireless router support WPS button mode.
b. Confirm WPS push-button mode is available on your wireless router.
c. Your network must use WPA/WPA2 security.
Connect HP printer to the router using WPS -
a. First of all, start the WPS push button mode on your printer.
b. You have to press WPS button on router within 2 minutes.
3.HP Wireless Setup Wizard -
HP Wireless Setup wizard run from your printer’s control panel.
a. Confirm that you know your network name as well as the security password.
b. Open printer’s Control Panel and then navigate to Network menu or touch the wireless icon. After that, navigate to Settings and then choose Wireless Network Setup Wizard. Now the Wireless Setup Wizard will display the list of all available networks in your area.
c. Next, just choose your wireless network name and if you didn’t find your network then enter network name manually.
d. In last, enter WEP or WPA passphrase. After that, your HP printer will connect to wireless network.

4.USB Setup of wireless –
If your printer does not have touch display then you can use this wireless setup method at the time of printer software installation. In this process, you have to temporarily connect a USB cable between the computer and HP printer. Note one thing i.e., connect and disconnect USB cable only when you are prompted by the software. In various cases, the software automatically detects the wireless settings.
